i do, and i become a very bitter person.

then i have to stop myself, and start counting my blessings.

i have great family, great friends and people around me,

i have to accept that maybe because they have had done something in their life and deserve such luck, and i should be happy for them....

but why do i still feel so bitter looking at them in such lucky circumstances? is there anything i can do to improve my circumstances so i am able to get what they are getting?

it was a beautiful wedding ceremony at the hidden valley ranch

we had an amazing time tanning and omg drinking so much!

beer on top of Indian head, its a tradition,

but i don't understand why though

it taste like cinnamon and warms you up when you're cold!

the difference is, some people chugs it...

i sipped.

this is before the dinner reception started,

and we've already emptied the bottle of fireball,

even typing the words Los Angeles or L.A. seem so surreal,
can you imagine the state of my mind when I arrive at LAX?
i was beyond myself and i thank the stars and moon gratefully
even if it was for work and also my boss for one week
but to be able stay in Hollywood (yes, West Hollywood)
was like telling me, i will bump into Bradley Cooper anytime!
well no such luck, but i'm just super thankful to be here.it was a beautiful city, expansive and expensive,
i went jogging around the block and beautiful houses
near the place where we stay, its like a film location,
the road names, Rodeo Drive, Melrose, Sunset Boulevard etc
except for the Hollywood sign which we couldn't find,
and talking to the concierge and asking
"how do we get to Santa Monica beach" sounds surreal!
the iconic carousel that appeared in films so many times!

this is one hot gymnast bod swinging around the hoops,
boss and i was super impressed, everyone else who attempted
pales in comparison after his excellent performance
he wasn't there to exhibit, this is like his WORKOUT routine!

and what makes the experience so cool? my boss is brilliant.
he rented a car cos it is much cheaper than taxi-ing around
only $20/day!!!! and this funky looking machine i drove,
obviously i was a really bad driver and boss was just holding
back all his comments, i feel so bad, im usually NOT that bad

it was all work so there isn't much time to do anything else,
and don't even get us started on the size of the meals,
it is very very huge, its like you should only eat 1/2 plate!

Sikome Lake

being here and having spent sometime last winter.
makes me realize how much people really appreciate the sun.
the sun is out and it is a must NOT to stay at home, and get out!
(Sikome Lake and sands brought in to make it a beach...)i was so annoyed when Scott called me on the phone
he was working and i was working extra hours as usual,
he wants me to get out of the house and I refuse to, lazy,
we were almost going to fight on the phone because of this
in the end I realize, he was right after all, it was worth it.

It was a beautiful Sunday, I was thinking about home,
and wondering what I would be doing back home,
I realize, the trick to not miss home
is to find a REPLACEMENT for what i miss from homei think replacements will work,
i will eventually immerse myself here,
its not that i will forget home, but its less painful for me
and less crying when the home sickness hits me

it was wonderful seeing the sights of families & young couples,
people speaking Chinese on my left, Cantonese on my right,
Arabic in front of me, Tagalog on my far left,
and they call this place home, maybe I could too....

this is 2 days old of dishes that i should be cleaning up

why was it all piled up? cos i was so busy working
i dont even have time to do anything else, stupid busy!

Chef Scott is obviously not a happy camper,

with a cluttered kitchen, it cluttered his mind,
so i need to make sure the kitchen is clean

on days like this when i cant wait to finish my work and pull myself away from my laptop, sometimes memories makes me stop and my desire to search for info plug me online longer than i expected that's why i'm still online with multiple tabs open on all kinds of information. BUSY.

i was browsing through my gtalk and gmail history, just to check on those that i've put a little yellow star on it because i do plan to revisit the thread of conversations since it must be something important. I came across this old email which puts a smile on my face, i know you don't like the idea of public display of affection and i think i'm the complete opposite of you, if i want to kiss you just let me kiss you, if you're worried about the public, please just empty your mind, close your eyes and be in the present with me.

it was an email you sent to me when we were both in the same living room in KL, i was obviously working till 2am as usual and fell asleep on top of my laptop which is not a rare occurrence, its funny how scared and nervous you are of waking me up, am i really that grumpy and bitchy?? its sweet you observe and understand me that well, really, and i guess maybe i am because i am very very particular about unperturbed sleep time. I'm prbbly one of the few rare breeds in this world who actually turns off their phone while sleeping!!!!

this is what you wrote and emailed me BEFORE you woke me up, hahahah hilarious boy!!!

tuna salad + tuna sandwich

my fav salad has to be tuna salad, cos its like a full meal!
i love eating it after a "long" jog (ahem...30mins, haha)
oh i didnt make these, scott did, obviously!

i usually eat alone at home when scott's working,
which feels like ALL the time, i calculated, we only spend
a quality time of 2 hours together per week! me not happy.
anyway, back to my worst nightmare, making food,
well, tuna sandwich is the easiest to make, im improving,
this is my first batch, i have made 3 batches so far,
and it taste DIFFERENT everytime, im just such a bad cook!

but i really dont have anything intelligent to say.
most of the time i struggle for words, dont be surprise,
when i love something, like this bowl of cereal,
at 9am in the morning while i work, the feeling it brings,
i wish i could describe even if to myself with the exact words
i wonder how do people write things that moves people?
i wonder if that can be learnt in a short period of time?
i wonder if i can see myself improve over time?

is modelling others the best way to improve?
i find it extremely annoying that some people,

salad or paella?

i still cant just eat salad for a meal, its an appetizer la!
despite it being really delicious with burst of flavors

however, RICE, oooohhhmyyyygawwddd RICE, i love rice!
so paella was just the right thing for me, hehheheheh

it was definitely an easy choice to pick what to eat
obviously i still need to eat my vegetables/salad,
starting to crave for kangkung belacan, garlic bak choy
AND that oh so common mixed platter of chinese stir fry!

Camping @ Sundre

the day before we went camping @ Sundre,
there was a tornado warning, we head there anyway,
i think it is still outside the tornado area.

our tent and all our food in the car.

a mobile hot tub by the river, its THE best thing to bring along!

toilet in the wilderness, great view ahead, seriously!

just before rafting in the INSANELY ice cold glacier water!!!
it was so cold my feet was numb, when the rock hit me,
i dont even feel a thing and my teeth were clattering of cos,
i will do it again if the sun is OUT and i'm suited up better~

medium rare steak, definitely a big treat when you're camping,
compared to the instant gooey food in a bag....

scott's co-worker trailer, they camp a lot!

campfires is a must and Rudy is doing a great job

and this is the MOST delicious chinese fried rice ever,

its worth the attempt! but I didnt finish it.

Hidden Valley Ranch (again)

2 weeks in a row at the ranch!

this week was more outdoorsy
because of these 2 cutest kids everwent wild flowers hunting,
came across wild rose, Indian paintbrush, daisies etc

and wild strawberries hunting!

and their horses, omg. super awesome magnificent looking!
they were in the middle of the field, with one whistle,
Luke summon them like its effortless!

we were feeding grass to them, duh... haha
the trick is to stick your palms out and make sure its flatlots of yummy food for us too in between their breaks
(boys were helping on fixing the hall for Luke & Michelle's wedding)
i've never had a beef slider bun before, its delicious!

and lots and lots and lots of beer, vodka, tequila and FIREBALL
and driving around like crazy in this truck, spilling everything.
life at the ranch. haha.and the boys in their sweatpants all relax and loosen up
with alcohol it did get a little bit crazy like...hmmm
"monday balls", "fruit basket" and "camel toe"...

communication breakdown

i just feel so sad working alone at this hour
its like a prison and im banging on the wall
trying to communicate with people on the other side

its so difficult to communicate with others sometimes,
i always think the problem is me, and i try so hard,
but yet i still can't understand them or get my msg through,
its disheartening, and i need to learn not to take it personal,

on days like this, i just wish i dont have to talk to anyone,
it seems that when i try to talk i end up fighting/bickering,
it all stems from misunderstanding and i want to avoid that,
i try to listen, but do i really hear what they are saying to me?

how can i stop being emotional? if im not emotional,
i wouldnt know how to care or empathize with others would i?
being in a virtual office makes me strive so hard to communicate,
is there a million things that goes through my mind?
thats why i cant structure my msg well enough?

maybe i am too expressive? thats why it jumbles up the msg?
or maybe the way i talk is just so weird that nobody understands?
or maybe i dont have enough information to convey better?
how do i improve on this? when all i face is the computer 24/7?

arroz y jalapeno made me cry

we had a big dinner at the ranch, mostly Mexican food.
this is Enchiladas, i helped in rolling these yummy things... i didn't know we were going to have rice (arroz en Espanol)
and at the sight of the rice, i missed home,
and at the taste of it, i just started crying!
it was horribly embarrassing how much i miss home...
and Susan (the hostess at the ranch who made dinner),
i think she was just amused how her cooking made me cry!

of cos, eating Jalapeno also made me cried,
but that's obviously for a different reason,
these was delicious, i could handle the hot-ness.but these babies are super HOT!!!
the hottest i've ever tasted!!

we made this for another meal
and i didnt finish cos its TOO HOT!!!
eyes were tearing a little with sweat trickling down, hahaha

$5 badminton and football

Hidden Valley Ranch 2011

second visit to the Hidden Valley Ranch,
i am actually VERY proud of myself this time because
i'm now able to get use to the life on the ranch
compared to the FIRST time when i was here (July, 2010)back then, i didn't had such a positive attitude,
still i was a trooper, after some coercing and guidance,
i was cleaning like mad, sweeping the dusty floor,
mopping, and washing stuff with the cold mountain water
and listening to my music (the only ELECTRONIC device)i realize with the right support, it gives me more confidence,
i asked way too many questions on the most simplest thing,
i still do but some of the things i can now manage myself,
even with just the kerosene lamp, i feel okay,
and the forest rustling and branches banging on roofs,
i can sleep soundly till the sun rise, isnt that awesome?we will be going there a couple of times this summer,
cos they are setting the place up for Luke & Michelle's wedding,
I will learn how to start the fire the easy way,
with KEROSENE, hahahaha what a cheater I am!maybe bring my watercolors or sketch book...? Nah lazy.
i rather just sit and stare into the abyss.

Cooking Attempt 3

with Chinese genes all over me,
I should be able to make a simple Chinese stir fried right?
argh....cooking, i rather jump of the building.
okay not that dramatic but close to that

I just throw everything in based on my own assumption,
garlic, onion, ginger and chicken first, once it looks cooked,
i took it out, put it a aside, throw in the colorful ingredients
and corn starch, once its bubbling i put the chicken in again.
flavoring? i just put half salt and some maggi seasoning stuff.

its edible la, but so boring. okay dear mom, u happy now?

Friday evening for me, Saturday morning for you,
picked out a few pictures and start sketching, WOBBLY!
I use to only sketch or paint once a year in Gohtong,
that is only when I'm not sleeping the whole weekend!
today started slow from 10pm and done by the 130am...Here I have so much time
learning to reduce TV time and (GASP!) Internet!
this keeps me occupied as long as i'm not sleepy,
maybe I should really work on the puzzle, its been a while.

i cant even look at pictures of snakes at all
let alone look at one at the zoo or anywhere
maybe snake phobia or ophidiophobia whatever.

This morning, I cant wake up from my dream,
I was surrounded by snakes cages outside a house,
i can't tell if its frontyard or backyard,
but there are TWO very significant snakes,
the largest one was a big bright yellow/white fat ass snake,
(yellow snake dream interpretation)
chomping on food with its back against me in a unlocked cage,
above it a big black python/cobra slithering around the tree,
(black snake dream interpretation)
coming downwards and may be heading towards me,
there were other mini ones slithering outside the house,
they are everywhere and i cant wake up!!!!

i can feel fear creeping in, but i was breathing fine,
its like i know i wont be harmed i just need to get out,
in the dream i manage to escape to a back door,
as i look back, neither snake was looking at me
I even manage to walkover the mini snakes,
I came to a green slope I was comfortable
I can smell and and see snakes them from a distance,
they are always around its impossible to fight them,
i feel like i was hiding from someone, i dont know why,
i should be hiding from snakes right?

i think i waited for a long time just laying on the slope,
2 men arrived in a van, it was confusing,
i think i know them but i have fear about them too,
i cant tell if they're going to help me or not,
but i stood up and walkover to them anyway,
snakes are still around me and then i woke up.

its very unsettling to have a dream like this,
so i Googled and look what i found, mixed answers

snakes are predominantly a symbol of fear and also a sexual symbol. They say every woman dream of snakes at least once in her life and the interpretation is often fear of a rival or fear of the male gender. It may be speaking to you of the fears around sexual expression that you may have. The serpent stands for physical drives If something is not right in that area of life, the snake dreams can come. i'm not TRAINED in the arts this is purely a hobby

Monet created a collection of these, i find it hard to copy
the exact same color tone, this is only the 1st attempt,
i'm sure it will improve if i make more copies,
i did this in about an hour its pretty rush cos i was bored
by the time i need to mix the green tones...

i looked out of the window, spacing out temporarily,
we were cruising in the car as the sun sets in the west,
you asked what was i thinking about, i smiled,
its that easy to read my expression, i was thinking about this.

there was a story it seems like it was a long time ago in 2006,
(well it was suppose to be longer like way back in WWII)
I will never forget that trip we made to Prague, Czech Republic,
it was an afternoon where the square was basking in the sun,
steps of tourists dancing and weaving amongst the market stalls,
Prague was magical and condensed with romantic essence,

but i was hungry and all i wanted was food,
we stop by the road and got a local hot dog snack,
i didn't have enough coronas coins with me, the guy just waved,
and smiled at me, i thanked him in English, it was FREE lunch!
i think Ariel and Joanne look at me in disbelief as i ate
we found a bench to sit down, an elderly couple came by,
but there were bird droppings on the benches,
so i borrowed tissue from Ariel wipe it and gesture them to sit

just like any conversations during chance encounters,
you don't really remember where the conversation
begins or ends but it was amazing and life changing.

planned the day and told myself to follow the timetable
i shouldn't overexert or overstay in Asian timezone,
because when i overstay in a different timezone,
i end up sleeping way more and wasting the time that im in,time out should be at exactly 10pm and shut the comp,
chill for an hour and try to get some sleep the next,
it isnt working so far, yesterday was ridiculous,
4 breaktime (water, grape juice, milk, orange juice)
and stayed long in Asian time working hours,
by the time i really fall asleep it was almost 6am!
i woke up at 10am, turn off the alarm, next thing you know
its almost 3pm when i woke up and half the day is gone!!!!
no wonder im feeling like shit right now, time wasted!

im gonna write it down here so it will happen,

someone said to me "workaholic" before,
but to me it doesn't necessary mean that being one
and you could produce results required, so its not really
a very agreeable term, i'd rather it be something like
workaresultholic? then that would be nice, work + results.
which is what i really want to aim for, and i need motivation.
i saw these glasses on Friday morning when i woke up
and realize there's much room to improve in the pattern i work,
i usually take a glass of water, head into the office,
sit on the chair all night long facing the laptop, typing,
with short breaks to the loo and kitchen for a drink,
then back to my seat again with a new glass of water
and continue the same routine... 3 glasses means 3 breaks.
is this healthy? am i giving 100% of concentration in work?

in order to produce results, i have the same hours as everyone,
i cant be expecting the same results, so on a different level,
i should be thinking ways to increase 10 to 20% of creativity
in the way i work and improve in different areas and new skills,
so the overall percentage will increase across the board for results.

if i have only 4 hours at each shift, and working alone with no disturbance,
i need to try to achieve the below with strict discipline,
daily and weekly agenda to be set and reviewed, 10mins,
new & flagged emails with one touch reply within 60mins,
time out and break for 10
emails that require thinking and pitching next 60mins
time out and break for 10
block time for calls the next 60mins
time out and break for 10
for the remaining time, it will be to attend to others online,
actually i need to put in some time for research too,
i need to improve on that if i want to convince people,
i really want my results and yes i know i need to enjoy it.
this will only be for a while, im young, i can do this!

James the Man was referring to the bizarreness of the weather
(either its too bitterly cold or unusual tropical monsoon rain)
and the outrageous drama that unfolds at his house,he apologized twice already, once during New Year's eve.
and yesterday, which is a couple of days before his wedding,
but i really didn't mind, i felt sorry that he has to deal with it.
these guests at his house, alcohol OD and emotions riding high,
crying and bickering and UFC drama ensued, like really (@_@)
we already left by the time the crying and bickering starts.
i'm oblivious to the drama because i do not know a lot of them,
and i dont know what to talk to them about so im not involved,
im usually in the living room watching TSN or TheScore
or Miami v Dallas yesterday evening, (basketball is f boring)
i guess James didn't want me to have a negative impression
of Scott's friends (which is him and his guests) in Canada,
especially since everyone seems to know im still hesitant
about moving here and have been making this short trips...
it was funny how James would associate the bizarreness to me,
"i swear its every time you come here"
he apologized as we were leaving and the weather again,
it was either i bring the bitter cold or the torrential rain,
and these dramas, according to Scott, never happened before!
James would, the next day, call us up and apologize again,
and yesterday's drama was pretty crazy,
the guys actually went back this morning just to check on James,
and make sure he is ready for his wedding, that was really nice,
i was impressed.i woke up late noon to a rainy day again,
i dont need any excuse to stay in the house, hehe,
(Jacyn would be so mad at me, she told me to get out of the house)

so here comes the daunting task of making a meal,
i hate cooking and i really am trying to make an effort!
Chef McKay claims he is is way up there with Gordon Ramsay.
so this is a lot pressure on me, and i really hate cooking!
i cant run away from it any longer,
cooking will eventually haunt me, so i better deal with it

even if its only instant noodle, like it can be done in 3 minutes,
but no, I cant just cook everything in one pot,
i even had to set the timer for the eggs,
a separate pot with chicken stock broth to cook these condiments
(fishcake, salmon balls, squid balls, hard boiled eggs)
apparently if you cook just with regular water its BLAH...
another separate pot for the actual noodle broth & mushrooms

it looks presentable but it doesn't taste that great,
Chef McKay says I didn't put enough love in it (=_=)lll,
and that I only put 1 spoon of love instead of 2 spoons.
whatever la, its the first meal i cook here and im hungry,
lets just eat!!!!!

i wonder if my days are all about the meals,

with each meal that i have,

its a day lived and day pass,

and i wonder what have i achieved?

have i truly make the effort to live the life,

or am i just going to relax and go with the flow?

the first meal when i arrive was soupy noodle with delicious broth

soup has a really calming effect on me, liquid melt thoughts away,second meal, deer or elk im not sure, but its salty,

it has a jarring effect on me because it has a novel taste,

though we can dip it in the familiar mustard and wasabi + mayoand today's dinner, BBQ lemon salmon with rice,

as i ate my dinner my thoughts were elsewhere,

it could be the sunset and it could be because its end of the day,

i get a little bit emotional than usual, and i felt like im drifting,
i wonder what have i done today to make a difference?

the sunset yesterday just before 10pm,

its quite nice to have longer days, i should do a lot more,

and keep myself occupied so i can get use to being here,
in future for a much longer time, so prep work is needed.

when i feel really grateful about this because its truly countless.

in my lifetime i've met some really amazing people,

and even if i've met crappy people there's some good in them too,

so i have been really really bloody lucky!

and i want to thank my lucky stars or whatever it is for this.

I had to say a temporary bye bye to boss cos he'll be traveling,

and i wont be seeing him until i come back from Canada next year,

it makes me sad that i wont be able to learn much from him,

you see being away from the team and everybody else,

its not about the attachment, its about learning from people,

learning from examples, learning from other people mistakes,

learning from other people's success, the idea of working alone means

i have to make that extra extra push and effort to learn remotely.

im getting really tired about working virtually from a distance,

(and people might think its cool, its not that cool sometimes)

but with a boss like that, i really want to make all things possible,

he helped me so much in my career, im really REALLY grateful,

the reason i am who i am today,
everyone that i've met and worked withhas influence me,
and i work 5 days a week, reporting to my boss,

in a certain sense, the way he manages us subconsciously
shapes the way we work with people too.

we have to keep up the good things and appreciate it to another level!

2000++ puzzle pieces

i brought a box of 2000++ pcs puzzle with me
when i head to Canada last year to work on it during sparetime
that was around November and boy i did not progress much!!
it was Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party of course
why is the cooking utensil there? cos we can SPADE up pieces
and place it on the board easily

but i should be ashamed of myself,
cos this was a gift i bought for Scott's mom from Malaysia,
it was during Christmas, and in like a month,
she managed to complete this much!
its a really beautiful piece of puzzle though,
i am considering buying one for myself

Palm's Hotel, Key West

i think its been a while that i realize the reason i like to travel,
its moments like this when passing by a place you learn and learn,
i know there were hurricanes around specific parts of the states,
but i couldnt imagine such beautiful place (the keys) in Florida,
being hit by hurricanes... and here are the bridges we drove on,
i suppose the structure must be strong and hurricane proof

this is also the first time that we DID NOT prebook a place to stay
and as expected i am worried as hell we have to sleep in the car!
but Scott assured me that he did the research, all we need to do,
is go to the Tourist Center , where they provide free service,
to advice on place to stay, things to eat, sights to see and activities,
i love this idea and they work around your budget too, within 20mins,
we've decided to stay at a B&B - Palm's Hotel, 820 White Street

the city is so very quaint, and this B&B is quaint too!
it didnt take us long to realize that this is a great holiday place
for retirees, older couples, a place at a leisurely pace.
we were just happy to be there and without the hype
of techno clubs or crazy drunks, this historic little city
(Hemingway was here before in this city before too!!!)
it made a fine impression and i would recommend it to
any elderly couple (ie parents) to drive here for a trip!

for the price we paid, Palms Hotel service & amenities
was worth the stay, clean, quite, cosy, and holidayish,
the houses here in key west are very beautifully designed,
many of them are special, with unique touches and colors,
lots of decorations and colors but simple and homey too
and of course Herbie was thrilled to be in the USA too!
yes its really sunny and we got a tan too
mainly because of the long drive and being out in the sun

Travelling Through Florida Keys

i'm not familiar with the geography and attraction of Florida,
Scott did some research on driving south to the Florida Keys.
I look at the map, the Keys are little dotted island in the south,
our destination is Key West, the most Southwestern tip,
you could say its like John O Groats, North of Scotland or
maybe Kudat, which is the East of Sabah.
Keys is derived from the Spanish word 'cayo' meaning little islands.
From this map you can trace it like a long road down south,
approximately 3 hours+ of drive from Miami to Key West,
we did not stop at any other Keys but it was a truly scenic drive,
and also hot (tanning) drive because of this rented convertible,
it was a nice choice cos i've never really sat in a convertible,
and it was really affordable, we are on a tight budget,
and this choice adds to the experience driving by the seaand an interesting historical thing that you will notice is this,
this sign is at the END when you reach Key West,
this is call the Mile Marker, and pronounce as MM 0 (zero)
for example, we started from Key Largo in the North,
say the MM will be 100 from North, but as you travel south,
the MM will keep reducing until you reach the end of south
(article here: Mile Marker)
this is actually not my picture because we had too little time
to visit this specific post and landmark for a picture.....
but if you're looking to conquer the TIP point of every country,
Key West is another recommendation to fulfill that desire!

interesting to see these blue jellyfish washing up the shores

was very tempted to poke it with a stick... (mean...)

and Scott just googled it, their tentacles are dangerous

and could kill! i was walking with my shoes off too
there are some (crazy) people swimming in the cold water!

i was busy taking pictures and nearly stepping onto it

if not for Scott's paranoia warnings i just might step on it

and the big seagulls are eating them up by the beach too

although this seagull below was cut into half
when the photo was taken, but i really like it,

because of its footprints and just the whole feeling

of watching it waddling around....

it wasnt the most sunny day and its unusual,
cos according to the locals and residents here,
this time of the year it suppose to be nice with blue skies
sunny mostly, but this is cloudy and windy ......

hopefully sun will come out soon!

why it is amazing to talk to strangers (sometimes)

through all the people that i've met over the years with work,
i come to realize that even though i'm worried about strangers,
(u see i tend to over-think that strangers are out to get you)

but i also realize at the end of a meeting, what strikes me the most,
would be the people i learn most about, not just about their work,
but just them as a person, their personality, dreams, thoughts,
ambitions, problems, desire, likes, dislikes, every little thing,
its a sincere feeling to know them and weird as it might seem,
i want to be able to make their day better, its totally WEIRD!!!

a lot of times im not sure if its culturally right or polite
to say things or act certain ways with complete strangers,
but then again to be really comfortable to talk with a stranger,
i find that one of the most rewarding experience ever,
wont you agree?

it could be a random make up touch up in the ladies
where we chat about the most mundane topics,
but also over a unscheduled longer meeting on things
that is not just work related but person related,
and with someone from a completely different culture,
sharing perspective on specific things and thoughts,

and even though my job is sometimes stressful like hell,
(like yesterday, or the day before or last year)
i just have to look back to these days when i meet
at least 10 strangers a day and that amazing conversation,
that one thing they said that stuck to your mind
and you know they are really a human just like you and me
not someone out to get you or make your life tough.

i guess this is one of those days where i want to
make a difference for someone and hopefully
my conversation with them had been rewarding for them.

apart from CSI:Miami and sunny state Florida,
i can't really call anything else i would know about Miami,
technically i am suppose to return home to resume work,
but my boss send me a note in December informing me
that there's a business conference where i should attend,
mainly because i'm already halfway here and Americas zone,
happens to be my market at the moment, so it made sense.

to cut a long story short of a very troublesome and visa wait time,
i finally got a business visa and i start to plan for the meetings,
so far so good, but somehow this time it feels different,
mainly because my colleagues wont be here at the meetings,
all the meetings will have to be on time and not overrun,
because nobody will be able to stand in for me,

and i realize, this would be the first time im visiting USA,
i hope things will be just fine and that it will be a wonderful experience,
i really do hope so, and all the meetings and people i meet will be really nice.
and yes bring some business back for the company!!!!!!

其实EDC的语言功力还不错

昨天因为工作压力很过分重，成绩近来又差强人意，
信心真的被打倒低谷，当人家婉转还是温柔的拒绝我的提案，
虽然平常不需要见任何人面对面沟通只需要email/phone call,
但因为缺乏了那种人情味，变成了一种我越来越不能应付的状况
当有太多太多的objection, 我开始质疑自己，i took it too personally，
很多人拒绝您的想法的时候，或是您尝试了解人家却被拒绝，
往往半夜工作结束后都不能立刻入睡，一直在想问题睡不着，

睡不着就尝试不同的治疗方法，
每一天都不一样，前天听五月天．
昨天听Sergio Mendes,　今天听古典音乐，
有时候看书，有时候随便上网看博客微博，
每天不停寻找可以渐渐平静入睡的东西，
真的很好笑，但昨天我想看陈冠希新歌的MV,
本身就很爱看MV，以前还梦想要当MV导演，
跟电影导演有很大的差别, 因为当MV导演
故事短又精彩加上音乐所有元素我很喜欢，

话说回来，我就开始看越看越有灵感，
而且发现他的中文和广东话进步神速，
多半因为唱歌也是用这两种语言的关系吧，
说不定因为常去日本加上日本伙伴也会说日语吧
其实真的敬佩他的精神，如果你看他的访问，
其实没有很多开玩笑的元素一直都讲工作，
与其说闷，不如说这是一种subconscious motivation.

yeap, thats right, its a type of motivation,
what i can derive from another person's speech,
enters my subconscious mind adapting to the process
and learning the strength and traits without realizing it.

与其说Martin Luther King, Barack Obama,
Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Lance Armstrong,
可以是精神上的榜样，但他们伟大的成就在我质疑自己的时候，
其实对我真的没有什么太大的鼓励或作用，因为太遥远了．

反而，时下潮流的艺人可能还可以影响得更多，
因为他们本身就是公众人物，发言机会也比别人多，
而且是时下的想法,面对时下的问题，
他们也是从平凡走过来，所以陈冠希所有访问中，
很深刻的留在我脑中，告诉自己说，
挫折是会过去的，要准备所有您的装备迎战，
机会是无所不在的，我可以再次建立我的信心，
可能不在这个领域也可以是另一个领域，

这让我联想到，我每天都经历真实的例子，
就是身边所有平凡再也平凡不过的人，比如身边的朋友，
他们每天的消息都让我感受到他们为了每天而努力的成果．
点点滴滴他们开心伤心喜欢讨厌的东西到面对问题的心态，
都可以是一种推动力，问题是youtube上并没有朋友的访问．

话说回来，我超级真的很佩服他的语言功力

小事情在小地方，总显得特别精彩
天气冷需要戴帽子是因为温度
是从头的部分最快蒸发掉的。

踏出公寓就要把hoodie帽从后面拉上戴上，
原先吹干的头发还来得及整理一下，

眯着眼睛迎着冷风走一段路之后，
踏进超市又要把hoodie帽从头上滑下脱下，
边走边整理头发，抹抹冷冷的鼻子，购物。

买了东西付了钱，双手满满出去又要戴上帽子，
头发这一次就乱了，再进入第二个超市场，
重复整个程序，头发已经是不可思议的kek了。
头发散乱得真的很不像普通人。

这让我想起靠近海港的利物浦，风可以把整个人吹掉，
但印象中好像没有看过同学带帽子或hoodie吧，
想想一下，其实今天头发乱了一点也不算什么啦。。。
只是心情闷了一点，什么东西都要写一番才爽。。。

总感觉在很短的时间，

这次回家的感觉是希望很快再回来这里，

但因为网路我还是可以跟家里的朋友保持联络。
更让我想注意朋友最近的动态新闻照片

工作自由空间也很多，通常需要2个小时准备上班，
在这里一起床就可以打开电脑先看email头条，
再去冲凉30分钟后再吃早餐随便收拾家里的东西，
1小时候就可以进入工作状态，而且不用穿鞋子，哈。
这样我本身觉得更有效率，更要积极有创意的解决问题。

we visited an indoor market abt a week ago to check out
fresh produce and i do want to get a feel of market,
cos thats where you can feel the pulse of life with
but maybe a summer market would be perfect
(fond memories of the markets in Liverpool)
cos it was a really cold morning and it was okay busy,
not crazy busy where you want to get out of this place,after breakfast and walking around some shops,
the antique shops are prbbly the most interesting,
but i have fonder memories from the outdoor & indoor
summer market back in liverpool, delicious smelling food!
but this is definitely the highlight - PIES -
they're only like $3/pie and you can make dinner around it,
just need to heat it in the oven for 35 to 40 mins,
cook up a soup in the meantime, carrots, brocolli,
and you're good to go with a meal, they have so much selection,
i just wish there's a way to send it back to Malaysia!!!!

10cents Deposit So You Recycle

No wonder the last time when i shop i did not have enough money to pay!!! Cos for any Canned product you buy, you will be charge a 10c deposit on top of the product price, which is great idea cos it will make you be aware of recycling the cans! Malaysia should start implementing this too! Cos when you recycle you get back the deposit anyway, if you dont recycle the money is theirs.

This time im careful not to spend exactly on the product price, example

12 cans of club soda is $3.79 + $1.20 deposit

1 can of V8 juice is $1.69 + 10c deposit

hmmm i wonder if they have deposit for bottle too???

Walking home from WalMart

it was a very cold day a few days ago, and its interesting because on the Weather Network, they have a Temperature column and a Feels Like column. I always look at the Feels Like column cos its more accurate for me. hahah!! In this video, the Temperature was -21 celcius but it Feels Like - 32 celcius (because of the wind!) when there's no wind, the temperature will be more accurate and Scott walking carefully on the ice defying the wind all dressed up in his goose feather jacket (i think...) everyone here looks bulky and bigger with all the layers they wear and clumsier i suppose for someone who is not use to it.

纸袋太大没办法把双手插进口袋，
她又没有戴手套一定冷得不得了，
现在站在马路旁正准备过马路，
而她走过去的方向是地铁，啊搭了地铁到家还要走一段吧，
真的很佩服她哦，因为我非常了解没有穿手套的冻！！！
而且可以感觉到她一定是为家里的大大小小出来买菜，
越看越感动，不知道为什么冬天就是让请有点忧伤凄美的感觉。

眼睛应该是太饿了吧，怎么买的时候觉得小小的，
打开了，却这么一大块!
T-Bone -也是刚学到的，看到中间有个骨头分两边?
一边小块比较软,一边大块比较硬, 当然小块的卖得比较贵,
有些地方只卖小块的就很赚钱了.

这是Triple A级的肉，最顶级的,大家都说只限于加拿大,
因为质地是最好的,如果运出去会搞坏人家的市场,
至今我还没有找到真正的文件/证据证实此事.
但真的很好吃, 当然是吃不完啦,这么大快!

i feel it might also apply to people around me,
by that i meant Scott, and i dont see many friends
blogged about it either. dont you think its interesting?

we are quite happy and contented where we are,
so there's no major need to change for 2011,

2010 had been quite a smooth year,

and not regret it when the clock struck 12 to 2012,
i guess i still have to try to come up with some 2011 resolution

Scott made some hard boiled eggs,
because he got too many, 2 dozen of eggs,
and he doesn't eat egg everyday or maybe once a week,
usually he would just mark hard boiled eggs with an X
but this time around he decided to draw faces, it was fun.
the TOP row is my drawing, the BOTTOM is Scott's

he draw me first and his idea of me is that i have a
HUGE FOREHEAD 高额头！
and a big nose (which makes me look like a man)
and big lips... if he draw a smiley face maybe its closer

as for revenge time, i draw him crossed eyes,
and a big large nose (which is true in real life)
and very very thin lips (also true in real life)

it was good fun, it made my evening much better
before i had to focus my mind into checking work emails.

I was just thinking aloud about icons from the West & representation of the East. For example, for every Michael Jackson, there is a representation in the form of Rain (Bi) the Asian Michael Jackson. Now when it comes to the connection with Edison Chen, I actually think of Kanye West!! Ideally I want to say Jay-Z, but Jay-Z is in a class of his own, and of course Kanye West reside in a different sphere, where oil and water comparison doesnt work.

I mean if you just look at the surface similarity between Kanye West and Edison Chen, they are CRAZILY similar!!! i can write longer post but right now this is what i can remember.

Their public persona (charming or Lan-C?)

EDC's persona - i always feel that EDC has this really tough act going on, some haters might even call it Lan-C (arrogance), but when you see how he talks about the people he works with, it is humbling to know how hard he tries. And next you hear it on his songs where he raps it back to people (especially Paparazzi) and even certain things about how the world is screwed up but he believes there's good in it. In short, its hard to summarize any person in one paragraph. This is the only DIFFERENCE that I feel between the two of them. and I have to say, in this really pumpin and motivated message at the beginning of 2010 from his CLOT blog, compared to his success by end of 2010, you gotta give him the hat and respect the man to actually achieving it, anyone who manage to keep a resolution, EDC did it and that is in a way role model on determination. I'm guessing he hardly sleeps and just kept going. "2010 promises to be a big year for ya boi EDC, i am going to be coming back HARDER than ever... i am in the driver seat of my life and can’t nobody hold me down, not the press, not the forces that be, the only person that can stop me is ME."

Kanye West's persona - (Source TIME) instead of re-emerging with a humbled, PR-friendly persona, he bounced back with "Power" the album a retort to everyone who has ever belittled him and reverting to what he knows best: bombastic rap. He likens himself to superheroes and Napoleon, then hits us with a beat that overwhelms us until we see no other worldview but his. "Power" reminds us why we tolerate Kanye in the first place: the man knows how to make music. Kanye will definitely get his attention.

Michael Jackson?

EDC - a track entitled as "Man In the Mirror" in the latest Confusion album, but just in my personal opinion that might be a tribute to the famous Michael Jackson title but rewrote entirely as a different song nothing close to MITM

Kanye West - I have to admit I have not listen to the album yet but he does have a Michael Jackson tribute "All of the Lights." too.

Sam Spiegel?

EDC & Kanye West both worked with Sam Spiegel to make something the talk of the town - Spiegel is a famous producer in his own right, he is the man behind EDC's Mr Sandman (1st track of Confusion) which takes it to top of the chart and also the man behind Kanye West's famous "Glow In the Dark" tour. Of course, personally I would very much like to say Jay Chow also collaborated with Kanye West, just like Jay did with EDC haha !!

its CLEANING DAY!! Scott was sleeping cos he worked late.

he showed me all these awesomely strong detergent stuff,

so i put on the disposable gloves (they're GREEN, so niceee)

i definitely prefer CLEANING anytime over COOKING.

interesting, each chemical product is meant for specific area!

in malaysia, can gau tim everything with cloths + water nia...

the hairy sight of the sink/basin,

cos Scott shaved his hair every other week, eewww....

not just Scott, but i'm the culprit too,

my long hair strands (or balls of it)

everywhere in the bath tub!!! and the stains on the side...

obviously humanly germs in action

i dont understand why it stains!

so i start with the shiny counter top with Lysol spray,

WAH LAO, 眼睛看不到真的不代表是干净的咯！

I am also pretty inspired by the book

its about a Taiwanese girl who lives in Japan,

she wrote a chapter on cleaning toilet the Japanese way!

haha and i'm cleaning toilet the Canadian way...

next i use LOC to fill up the basin and leave it

to kill the germs and after that i wipe it down clean

WINDEX for mirrors,

the chemical was so strong i coughed a couple of times, ew..

back home i only need to use old newspaper to clean mirros nia...

BAM for the tub stains, scott warned me its strong,

so after i sprat the tub like crazy and its surrounding areas,

i close the bathroom door and wait for 10 minutes,

when i went it, it was nice and easy to scrub it down clean!

of course i had to also mop the floor,

clean the toilet seat and its surrounding areas,

in the end it looks really clean and feels really clean,

compared to my bathroom back home, this is better,

maybe its time to invest in chemical products

for the sake of 100% hygiene.... SEEEE.....???

journal

i havent written in a journal for a long time,
mainly because there's no more room to keep a journal,
imagine i have at least 1 to 2 every year since 13 years all,
the drawer is pretty full combined with my other scrapbooks,
so far online seems like the best solution to write things down,
paperless and unlimited storage, albeit not private....

scott's mom bought me a nicely bound journal for christmas,
i love it, its just the right size and lots of room to scribble,
because its so beautiful and new, i'm very cautious when using it,
im not sure what i will write in it yet specifically,
but briefly i think i will use it as my visual map
and compile Top 100 Things To Do Before .... kind of stuff,
haha, you have to write it down somewhere to remember it.
its new year's eve today, im sure there will be a lot of reflections.

不清楚这里的书店文化
是否跟吉隆坡或台北大书店相似
可以很舒服或很自在的待久久
然后可以不用买书轻松离开，

但既然已经决定在零下17度，
雪花轻飘的冬天，费神的穿上冬装
踏在有厚厚的冰的大马路，小心翼翼的
冷风却一直吹，狼狈的样子是一定的，
所以我想还是花些时间在书店里面吧
2个小时就这样不知不觉过去了
听着Girl from Ipanema看书架上的书
想到Lulu,可能是Bossa Nova的关系吧，
坐下来翻翻2本书，都是看照片
一个旅游，一个画画历史，

过后站起来慢慢看biographies的书架，
看到一本很厚的John Lennon, 突然想起了Jun,
接下来看到Dali和Klimpt的历史还有作品记载，
就想起在伦敦某个角落曾和Ariel看到Dali作品拍照，
又联想到Felice给我看过有Klimpt作品的包包，
种种生活上人家说过的话就在耳边响起。。。

过后，我就回来了，中午2点钟有太阳却很冷，
充满灵感想看很多书，也很想跟大家分享，
安静的下午，只有我一个人（scott睡觉），
吃着圣诞节剩下的甜品/朱古力/饼干/果汁
看一本刚买的苏联历史文化书本，才$5加币
其实没有灵感的时候我应该不会看这种书，
现在有感觉了，还不赶快去看~！！

I realize I have not really thought about it,

It reminds me of the concept of meditation and transfer metta to a person, Somehow, believe it or not, the person will receive your metta,
They will feel the tranfer of merits from you to them,
It could well be only 10secs, but its a feeling of bliss they could feel.

I guess in the most basis of in our reality, we call it coincidence,
When we thought of someone at that instance our phone rang too,
When we hear a song which we want to share,
At that instance the person you're thinking about may call you too,
Many coincidences like these has occured before
I believe positive energy will always move around,
Thus, in the last hours of 2010, why dont we take a moment
To think of someone and transfer our love to them,
I guess they will be able to feel it somehow.

刚刚写了一篇信给家人，这种时候真的特别想念他们，
会不会是距离的原因? 感觉不能就这样回家很伤心。
希望家人朋友过得好好的，自己就会开心。

his parents bought him this,

something that he had wanted for almost 3 years

it looks like a beautiful day view of the sea from a resort,
you can almost feel the sun pouring into the bedroom,
i know picture could have beautiful effect,
but this feels more than beautiful, it feels real and holidayish.
when we went to the mall on Boxing Day (day after Christmas),
there is a night view of the exact same frame, its amazing.
i think that should be the next goal, haha

careless mistakes will cost someone's else precious time

it is very very embarrassing and morally dejecting,
to have a document prepared and sent, to be resent back to me,
so i could make amendments and resend it again...

next thing you know, there are still mistakes within the documents!
its incredibly terrible how i can not be perfect in checking my work,
i tried and tried to check it numerous times, but there's always mistakes,
discovered by someone, makes me feel very lousy for being careless,
because of my carelessness, someone else had to do the checking,
which means they are doing my work, how can i accept that?
my carelessness means wasting someone's else precious time,
this is unforgivable.

but i am super stressed out trying to be perfect,
trying to attain something better,
trying so hard to climb up the ladder,
sometimes i try, but cant seem to enjoy life or work,
because i am always afraid of my mistakes,
its really a very heavy feeling almost feels like a punishment.
i have to be extra careful, extra attention and extra cautious,
but i also need to learn how to relax and let go, balance...

its 1230am now, i should really stop working and go to bed
and be ready for a 12pm discussion call tomorrow. its work again.

Christmas is incomplete without Turkey,
so here is the main event

Turkey, pickles, celery with cheese, olives, carrots,

brocolli, potatoes, gravy, fried yam

and after that super tired, cos they say eating Turkey

makes people tired, i wonder why???

Christmas Day from 10am to 10pm (part 1)

it was fantastic, almost surreal,

we step into the house and we smell breakfast,

walk into the living room the tree look grandeur

than ever and most beautiful, we put all the

presents we brought for the family & friends,

there were no more room and we have to stack it!

while Uncle and Aunty is making waffles & eggs for breakfast,

we went down to the basement eagerly

to open our Christmas stocking stuffers!

everyone has one stocking, and they stuff it with ALL KINDS

of mini gifts! from scented candles, travel journal, stuff toys,

chocalates, candies, cute little things and fill it up to the top!

after our brunch, it was past noon so Tyler was the appointed Santa,

he will pass out one gifts to everyone at the same time,

once everyone got one gift each, we will all open at the same time,

its really nice and its fun to take pictures of all the happy expressions

and the first gifts that we opened was our

Pyjamas Pants!!! mine is red with ribbon i love it so much!!!

it really does feel like we just woke up for Christmas, haha!

we spent almost an hour or so just to open every single present!

there was so much love in the room its such a peaceful loving day,

as far as i know, we didnt have a christmas tree in the house,

i went to bed at 12am on christmas eve,

woke up at 5am to pee and went back to bed,

but at 830am i still woke up to this surprise!!!

apparently, Scott said Santa was here and Santa brought presents for the kids!

i will open mine later at Scott's parents house,

we're leaving in 10mins for a big breakfast!!!

对不起又是宫，哈哈！其实我觉得看韩剧要哭的可能性还蛮大

因为这首歌+剧本大概哭了3次，第一次看的时候哭比较多啦。

整个剧最喜欢2首歌，一个凄凉一个希望，2个极端。

其实宫的故事包含古装又要时髦，极端所以适合双子座的我吧。

冰莲这首歌冰得不得了，铉乐乐器我觉得可以同时奏出凄凉/希望的，

小提琴是最适合不过了

原来还可以计算到韩剧片段的收视率哦

可能是念过媒体科系吧，所以就会注意到宫收视率程度

原来还可以计算到哪个镜头有最高收视率哦，

主打歌也因为这片段而大红哦。。。MBC因为这2分钟也赚回本了吧

“李信与采静江陵海边蜜月旅行”

我觉得字幕有点破坏气氛，如果单单这样看片段，

可能感受不到片段的魔术，

其实这是从他们不认识对方到包容对方的过程

（故事里面他们之前实在是每个情节都格格不入）

这就是主要转变点，怪不得收视率会是最高呢。

Princess Hours - Goong 宫

3，4 年前看的韩剧 -宫- 现在看还是很好看虽然感觉自己像小妹妹

但因为配乐真的很好，而且男女主角虽然不是大帅美女就更亲切更好看

喜欢他们服装有点over的格调，喜欢故事的结局让人很舒服，

一两天就可以看完了，真爽~

i dont think we can find this type of drawing anymore,

gift wrapping skill

i only know how to wrap SQUARE. period.

i attempted various designs, but none turns out great.

u know i want to wrap it in fancy shapes like

PYRAMID, ROCKET, RIBBONS, or even a simple T-shirt...

at first i was not in the mood, but once i started,

i want to wrap everything and anything

because the color boxes makes me so happy!

even though none of this is mine....

圣诞树灯饰

Scott's mom invited us over to help decorate the Christmas Tree

it is my first time, so i find it quite fascinating,

this year they did not get a real tree (awww...)

so this tree is already set up with electronic lightsi find out that christmas tree decoration is not just about pretty,

it is a very personalize style, it can be anything from handmade to purchase,

it definitely has some significant meaning too! for example

this was Scott's first Christmas, his parents specially got this for him

to light up this little house, we stick one of the light bulb into it

its one of my favorite christmas decor

i think this is the MOST IMPORTANT decor of all...

it is the first to go up to the tree

i suppose it can also be the last depending on individual

and these are fantasy world style decor,

there are too many but i picked out these 2

Unicorn

and a Mermaid princess playing harp

i think glass decor is one of my favorite,

because it catches the light and it sparkles

a pair of beautiful glass shoes (see how its in front of the lights)

and the reindeer, before the light he was normal,

with the light he sparkles and captures attention

not forgetting the religious meaning of the occassion

and the season of christmas, cold and snowy in most country

and tons of sizes, designs, colors of decorative balls everywhere!

and the final result!

there is a skirt at the bottom to cover it

and where presents will be place around for christmas day!

and i realize this is the FIRST picture of myself

from this trip, i think im really out of touch with camera,

i prbbly should send this picture home to my family soon

and post here for friends haha, that i am fine and my hair is unruly!
